Truckee Police Department and FBI Arrest Bank Robbery Suspects From Reno

Truckee, CA…On Saturday, December 3rd, 2016 the Truckee Police responded to a possible bank robbery at the Bank of America on Donner Pass Rd. in Truckee. Officers discovered that at approximately 10:00am the B of A had been robbed at gunpoint by an unidentified white male suspect. The suspect had entered the bank and displayed a handgun and ordered employees to place an undisclosed amount of money in a bag. The suspect was able to flee the scene before the police arrived.

Truckee Police Detectives, working with the FBI, began an investigation and quickly learned the possible identity of the suspect. Alex Frasier (age 19 from Reno) was believed to be involved along with a co-conspiring bank employee, Grant Schaeffer (age 20 from Reno). Schaeffer was interviewed and arrested at the bank by Truckee Police Detectives. Schaeffer was booked into the Nevada County Jail in Truckee for Robbery and Conspiracy (both felonies) on Saturday December 3rd, 2016.

On Monday, December 5th, 2016 FBI Special Agents and Redding Police Officers were able to locate and arrest Frasier in the Redding area for Robbery and Conspiracy. Frasier will be transported back to Nevada County where he will await prosecution on the applicable charges. The Truckee Police Department will not be releasing any additional information or making any additional comments in order to preserve the integrity of the investigation.
