South Lake Tahoe, CA…The Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce (Tahoe Chamber) will host the GO Local Workshop for Retailers on Thursday, November 3, from 8:00 a.m.-9:30 a.m., at Tahoe Mountain Lab, 3079 Harrison Avenue in South Lake Tahoe. The event will feature an overview of the Tahoe Chamber’s GO Local business campaign, the benefits of the campaign, and an audience brainstorming session.
The Tahoe Chamber’s goal of this workshop is to engage local retailers with the GO Local campaign. “We believe that by creating a strong South Shore retail alliance we can maximize the effectiveness of the GO Local campaign,” said Tahoe Chamber Events Director, Emily Abernathy. Shopping local not only creates local jobs, it generations more money in the local economy, which creates more tax revenue for city and county services.
The workshop will also give retailers the chance to express to the Tahoe Chamber the challenges they experience and how the Tahoe Chamber can better help them face those challenges. Retail Consultant, Brad Jones will facilitate the event.
The GO Local business campaign is in place to help residents understand the importance of supporting small businesses in the South Shore community. On average, money spent at a local business generates 3.5x more wealth for the local economy compared to money spent at a chain store.
