Lake Tahoe Basin Federal Advisory Committee To Meet In Tahoe City

South Lake Tahoe, CA…The Lake Tahoe Basin Federal Advisory Committee (LTBFAC) is scheduled to meet October 27, 2016, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the Tahoe City Public Utility District office, 221 Fairway Drive, Tahoe City, CA 96150. LTBFAC will address issues related to federal activities at Lake Tahoe.

Items on the agenda include an update on the Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act (SNPLMA) secondary list and priority setting, a follow-up and debrief on the 20th Anniversary Lake Tahoe Summit, and an update on Forest Service Actions: Tree Mortality and Invasive Species. Members of the public interested in finding out more about the LTBFAC are encouraged to attend the meeting.

LTBFAC consists of 20 members representing a broad array of constituencies. The Secretary of Agriculture chartered the first LTBFAC in July 1998 to advise the Federal Partnership on programs and projects within the Lake Tahoe Basin. LTBFAC’s charter has been renewed every two years with the most recent renewal occurring in 2015. All Lake Tahoe Basin Federal Advisory Committee meetings are open to the public. Issues may be brought to the attention of the committee during the open public comment period at the meeting, or by filing a written statement with the committee through Karen Kuentz, USDA-Forest Service, Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, 35 College Drive, South Lake Tahoe, CA, 96150.
