Zephyr Cove, Nevada – Douglas County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the Nevada Highway Patrol are currently working a fatal traffic incident in the 600 block of Lookout Road in Zephyr Heights.

At approximately 11:42 am on Friday, May 02, 2014, a homeowner was backing his vehicle into the garage. The vehicle entered the garage and drove through the back wall. The vehicle plummeted approximately 80 feet, then down the embankment before coming to rest against a tree. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver’s name is currently being withheld, pending family notifications. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
