Minden, Nevada – On March 17, 2014 at 8:21 am, Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a body in a creek at Lampe Park.

Park Rangers located 24 year old William Murphey Sheerin from Gardnerville, NV kneeling face down in the creek. Cause of death is suspected as drowning, however final cause will not be determined until after the autopsy and toxicology reports have been completed.

During the investigation, receipts found from a local store show that Sheerin purchased some alcohol and cigarettes last night. It is unknown how Sheerin arrived at the park. No obvious trauma was located and no foul play is suspected at this time.
