Reno, NV…Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center (SMRMC) in Reno launched Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) in a gathering on February 11.
Besides SMRMC officials and CPE (interfaith professional education for ministry) students, various religious leaders of the area belonging to diverse religions/denominations also participated in this launch.
According to Chaplain William R. Greaver III, SMRMC, only hospital in Nevada to do so, is a satellite center of Stanford Hospital and Clinics of California for this program which is accredited by Association of Clinical Pastoral Education of Decatur (Georgia).
Speakers on the occasion included SMRMC Director of Spiritual Care Services Marie Lubac-Neves, ACPE Supervisor Beverly Hartz and Hindu statesman Rajan Zed.
Nationally recognized SMRMC, currently owned by Prime Healthcare Services and whose history goes back to 1877, is a 380-bed acute care hospital offering inpatient, outpatient and wellness services; including the region’s only CyberKnife radiosurgery delivery system. Helen Lidholm is SMRMC CEO.
