8th Annual Lake Tahoe Backcountry Demo Event
ALPENGLOW SPORTS presents the 8th Annual Lake Tahoe Backcountry Demo EventSaturday, January 11th, 2014 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
at Alpine Meadows Ski Resort Tahoe City, California
The event is free, but participants must possess a valid lift ticket or season pass purchased from Alpine Meadows or Squaw Valley USA, along with a driver’s license and credit card for deposit. Registration for the event will occur onsite at the Alpenglow Sports tent on January 11th.

Winter Film Series #3: Salomon Female Ski Mountaineer  Kim Havell ~ January 9th, 7:00 PM

Alpenglow Sports is proud to announce the third installment of the 2013/14 Winter Film Series with world-famous female ski
mountaineer and Salomon-athlete Kim Havell. On January 9th at 7PM Havell will share her tale “The Magic of Mountain Partnership.”

The show is FREE and is designed to motivate, inspire, and educate. Amazing raffle prizes from Salomon, Black Diamond, Osprey, Buff, Pro Bar and Suunto will be on hand. 100% ofproceeds will benefit the Sierra Avalanche Center.

Tahoe City Winter Sports Park now OPEN!

 

The Top 10 things to know about the

Tahoe City Winter Sports Park

#10-The Park is OPEN, Friday – Sunday’s, for the winter season with sledding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and dining and it will be open DAILY during the holiday season (beginning 12/20).

 

#9 – The trails are all dog friendly.

 

#8 – There is a new menu at the restaurant with family friendly options and pricing.

 

#7 – Adults can now enjoy fine wines and drink specialties at the bar.

 

#6 – The fire pits are going every Saturday night – come out and make a FREE s’more!

 

#5 – There is a dedicated, FREE, walking and snowshoe trail that is great for families.

 

#4 – There are events all winter long at the snow park including:

  • Saturday, 1/4/14: Evening Sports Park Relays
  • Saturday, 2/1/14: Family Biathlon Event
  • Sunday, 2/2/14: Super bowl Sunday at the Park
  • Saturday, 2/15/14: Full Moon Skiing and Sledding, Bonfire
  • Wednesday, 2/26/14: Cobblestone Relays
  • Sunday, 3/2/14:  Wacky Winter Bowling

#3 – Every Saturday is “Sports Park Saturdays” and the winter sports park is open for night skiing, sledding, dining and free s’mores.
