Brian Jagger, Assistant to Placer County Supervisor, Has Been Charged with Embezzlement

Message From the Office of Placer County Supervisor Kirk Uhler
December 19, 2010

Yesterday evening at approximately 5:00 PM, I was contacted by Placer County Chief Executive Officer Tom Miller who informed me that my assistant, Brian Jagger, had been arrested and charged with embezzling from the campaign account of my friend, the recently elected District Attorney, Ronald “Scott ” Owens.

I was both shocked and saddened by the news. I have know Brian since he was a young man of 15 or 16 years of age, when he was a student at Placer High School who was active in student body government.

Likewise, I have known Scott since 1994 when he and my wife were colleagues in the District Attorney’s Office.

While I will continue to pray for Brian and wish the best for him and his family, Brian has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of this investigation, as is the County’s
standard practice in such unfortunate situations.
