Tahoe City, CA…Beginning today, current Lake Tahoe license plate holders are eligible to win free lift tickets through the Tahoe Fund’s “Plate Spotter” program. Owners of Tahoe plates who post photos of their plates to the Tahoe Fund Facebook page are entered to win two free lift tickets from one of eleven participating resorts. Winners will be drawn randomly bi-monthly through March.
The winner of this week’s Plate Spotter Program (shown above) receives two tickets to Heavenly Ski Resort. “The Plate Spotter Program is our way of showing appreciation for current Tahoe plate owners for supporting critical environmental projects in Lake Tahoe,” explains Tahoe Fund CEO Amy Berry. “Our popular Plates for Powder program rewards new buyers, so we needed a way to say thanks to the folks who have already signed up to help the Lake.” In addition to owners uploading the pictures themselves, official “spotters” in Tahoe and the Bay Area will shoot photos of plates and upload them. Plate owners should visit the Tahoe Fund Facebook page every other Thursday to see if they are the lucky winner. Over 96% of the funds raised through the sale of Tahoe license plates support hiking and biking trails and watershed restoration projects such as the Lower Blackwood Creek Restoration, Sawmill Bike Trail and Rabe Meadow Bike Path. The Tahoe Fund, a non-profit dedicated to raising money and support for environmental improvement projects that will improve lake clarity, recreation and stewardship around the Lake, is organizing the program on behalf of the state agencies, California Tahoe Conservancy and Nevada Division of State Lands, who are beneficiaries of the plate fees. Anyone who buys a Lake Tahoe plate before April 1 is eligible to receive two free lift tickets through a separate promotion called Plates for Powder. Information on the Plate Spotter and Plates for Powder programs and how to redeem free tickets is available atwww.tahoeplates.com. Plate Spotting is available through March 20, 2014.
