Diamond Peak Ski Resort Celebrates Opening Day

INCLINE  VILLAGE,  Nev.  (December  11,  2013)  –Diamond  Peak  Ski  Resort,  North  Lake  Tahoe’s  most  affordable  resort  with
breathtaking  views  of  the  lake,  officially  kicks-‐off  the  2013  –  2014  ski  season  on  Thursday,  Dec.  12.  The  family-‐friendly
resort  will  open  top-‐to-‐bottom  with  four  of  their  seven  lifts  operating.
“We’re  very  excited  to  welcome  skiers  and  riders  back  to  Diamond  Peak  for  the  new  season,”  said  Brad  Wilson,  general
manager,  Diamond  Peak  Ski  Resort.  “We  are  offering  1,840  vertical  feet  of  top-‐to-‐bottom  skiing  with  excellent  coverage
on  all  open  runs,  at  an  affordable  rate.”
Single  day  Adult  (ages  24-‐64)  lift  tickets  are  available  for  $59  per  person,  Child  (ages  7  –  12)  lift  tickets  are  $20  and  youth
(13  –  23)  and  senior  (65  –  69)  lift  tickets  are  $49.   Diamond  Peak  extended  the  ages  on  the  Youth  ticket  this  season  to
allow  young  adults  up  to  23  years  old  to  ski  at  the  Youth  rate.  Skiers  and  boarders  also  have  additional  options  for
various  pass  deals,  including  the  season  pass,  mini  pass,  half-‐day  lift  tickets  and  the  “Bring  Your  Other  Pass”  (BYOP)  deal.
The  mini  pass  is  ideal  for  those  planning  to  visit  Diamond  Peak  various  days  throughout  the  year,  but  not  frequently
enough  to  purchase  a  season  pass.  The  BYOP  special  allows  pass  holders  from  other  resorts  to  receive  a  lift  ticket  for
$35,  $45  during  the  holidays.  All  lift  tickets  and  passes  can  be  purchased  on  site  or  through  the  new  Diamond  Peak
ecommerce  website,  DiamondPeak.com.
Diamond  Peak  will  be  honoring  season  pass  holders  at  its  upcoming  annual  Season  Pass  Holder  Appreciation  BBQ  on
Thursday,  Dec.  19.  Guests  will  enjoy  complimentary  food,  fun  and  raffle  prizes  at  the  resort’s  Base  Lodge.
The  resort  is  also  encouraging  guests  to  engage  with  Diamond  Peak  while  on  the  mountain.  Skiers  and  riders  can  capture
the  incredible  views  and  share  their  experiences  on  Facebook,  Twitter  and  Instagram.  Diamond  Peak  suggests  the  use  of
the  hashtag  #DiamondPeak  or  tagging  the  resort  in  their  posts  to  show  up  on  the  website  Social  Hub  page  and  for  the
chance  to  be  featured  as  the  “Pic  of  the  Day.”
As  the  2013  –  2014  ski  season  approached,  the  resort  worked  to  enhance  the  property  and  offer  great  new  additions.
Over  the  summer,  Diamond  Peak  staff  worked  to  improve  the  health  and  safety  at  the  resort  by  thinning  out  some  of
the  forest,  which  provides  the  added  benefit  of  improved  glade  skiing  and  riding  during  snow  season.  The  resort  also
increased  its  snowmaking  capacity  by  adding  five  new  fan  guns,  boosting  the  snowmaking  fleet  and  significantly
increasing  the  snowmaking  capacity.  Moreover,  Terrain  Based  Teaching  was  added  for  all  beginner  lessons,  which
incorporates  small  terrain  features  into  beginner  lessons  as  part  of  the  learning  progression.  This  increases  the  fun
factor  while  helping  skiers  and  boarders  learn  the  skills  necessary  to  graduate  from  the  bunny  slope.   The  resort  also  just
installed  two  electric  vehicle  high  capacity  charging  stations  available  for  free  to  those  guests  that  bring  their  electric
vehicles  to  the  mountain.
