Truckee, CA…On November 24th at approximately 8:30pm CHP Officer McDonnell from Truckee CHP Area observed a rental box truck that was failing to maintain his lane as proceeded on I-80. The box truck was stopped just prior to the state line.

Upon contacting the driver and speaking with him about the violation the CHP Officer detected the oder of marijuana emitting from within the vehicle. The CHP Officer conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and located approximately 68.5 pounds of marijuana.

The driver is a 23 year old male from Rhonert Park and the passenger is a 22 year old male from Oakland. The driver and passenger were arrested for possession of Marijuana for sales and transportation of drugs. The driver and passenger were booked into the Nevada County Truckee sub-station jail facility.
