Granlibakken’s Thanksgiving is served family-style and includes all the homemade favorites: roasted turkey carved tableside, mashed potatoes, stuffing, buttered spaghetti squash, candied yams, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie and additional desserts. Keeping its European roots and hospitality in mind, the resort will also wrap any leftovers for turkey sandwiches the next day. Vegetarian options are also available.

Thanksgiving lodging packages start at $150 per night and include the holiday dinner and hot breakfast buffet for up to four. Guests can choose any lodging from rustic lodge rooms, studios and condos from one to five-bedrooms. Prices vary with room type.

If it’s just a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with leftovers for non-hotel guests can join the group celebration for $40; $20 for children 12 years and older and 11 years and younger.

Guests can work up an appetite outdoors at Granlibakken’s Treetop Adventure Park, recently voted No. 1 Tahoe Activity by TripAdvisor.com. Set 30 feet off the ground, the ropes course and zip line will be open Thanksgiving week (weather permitting) and throughout the winter season. Fully harnessed guests can zip, climb, walk and maneuver their way through a number of obstacles, each with varying degrees of skills and challenges.
