Snow Alert: 14” at Alpine Meadows, 10” at Squaw Valley for First Snow of the Season

Olympic Valley and Alpine Meadows, CA…Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows have received the first significant snowfall of the 2013-14 winter season. Overnight, Alpine Meadows received 10 inches of snow at the base and 14 inches on upper mountain. Squaw received 5 inches of snow at the base and 10 inches on upper mountain. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is forecasting an additional 3 to 6 inches of snow is possible by Tuesday morning.

The new snow comes almost exactly a month before the scheduled opening day at Squaw Valley. Squaw is slated to open Wednesday, November 27. Alpine is schedule to open Friday, December 13.
