Gardnerville, Nev.…Due to a last minute spate of requests, the Carson Valley Visitors Authority, http://www.visitcarsonvalley.org/, has extended the deadline one extra week to Oct. 11 for individuals to submit an audition video to be the “Carson Valley Rider.” The tourism agency launched a campaign last month to find one horse savvy woman to become a spokesperson for the region and tell visitors why Carson Valley, Nev. is “Rugged. Relaxed. Reachable.” all while riding a horse.
The job recruitment video (http://youtu.be/ZyePoR-jVV8) and posting have generated 13 applicants to date. People competing for the job include former Miss Nevada Julianna Erdesz, a fifth generation Carson Valley woman, and a University of Nevada, Reno student among others. The videos can be viewed on YouTube by searching “Carson Valley Rider Contest.”

Must be able to keep a horse between you and the ground. Rodeo skills not necessary, but, we wouldn’t turn you away either.

Not afraid to get your hands dirty
Interested applicants can apply by submitting a 3-5 minute personal video on why they should be the Carson Valley Rider. The finalist will receive an all-expense paid outfitted four-night, five-day adventure in the Carson Valley for herself and a guest.
The rider will be compensated with a “salary of real experiences” from participating sponsors like 1862 David Walley’s Hot Springs Resort & Spa, the Carson Valley Inn, Topaz Lodge and Casino, Soaring NV, area ski resorts and J.T. Basque Bar & Dining Room.
She will be featured in videos and promotions filmed on location throughout the Carson Valley through October 2014.
