Lake Tahoe Design Professional Wins International Contest

June 25, 2013 (Easton, Md.) —  Local design professional and award winning business owner Linda McCall was recently named Decorator of the Year, the highest design award presented by Decorating Den Interiors, North America’s largest interior design and home furnishings franchise company.
Her winning room makeover featured a dramatically designed family room that featured a warm and elegantly casual enclave that reflected her client’s penchant for an eclectic mix of Nantucket and Asian styles.  McCall’s  family room was selected as the best of more nearly 300 entries in12 categories judged by U.S. and Canadian journalists who write for such publications at Traditional Home, House Beautiful, Design NY, and for national syndication and regional publications. Winners of this 29th International Dream Room awards competition were selected based on their design excellence, creative problem solving, and overall presentation.
McCall, who owns the Decorating Den Interiors franchise at Lake Tahoe, was presented her awards at the company’s 44th annual conference and supplier market held recently in Memphis, Tenn. McCall received the following awards:
  • International 2013 Decorator of the Year
  • First place in the Family Room Category
  • First place Patti Award
  • First runner-up for the People’s Choice, an award from online voting of the general public, a competition that drew more than 26,000 votes
  • Second place in the Bathroom Category
McCall has access to an extensive library of before and after high resolution, digital photographs featuring the top three room makeovers in each of the 12 categories, which makes for an ideal workshop or seminar program for organizations looking for meeting programs.
Decorating Den Interior’s room makeovers have been featured in such publications as Good Housekeeping, Canadian House and Home, Better Homes and Gardens, Woman’s Day, House Beautiful and House and Garden.  In addition, the company has been featured in a variety of design segments on HGTV and The Discovery Channel.
