Brotherhood Motorcycle Member Arrested for Felony Weapons, Assault Crimes & Drug Paraphernalia

South Lake Tahoe, CA – On Tuesday, April 23rd, 2013 the SLTPD SWAT team executed high risk search and arrest warrants at 2493 William Avenue, and took 46-year-old Anthony Corbin into custody for several felonies. Anthony Corbin is a confirmed member of the South Lake Tahoe Brotherhood Motorcycle Club. In mid-March Corbin was identified as the suspect who severely beat a 34-year-old South Lake Tahoe man. The victim was left with significant injuries, including several broken bones. While the investigation into that case was being concluded, Corbin had another altercation with the same victim again yesterday, Monday, April 22nd. During this encounter Corbin’s 49-year-old wife was present. Corbin allegedly drew a knife, threatened to kill the man, and then attempted to attack the male victim. Corbin’s wife stood between them in an effort to intervene. Corbin battered his wife to get her away from him. The male victim was able to get away to safety.

Corbin’s wife turned to the police for help. She was placed in a safe location, away from the residence she shares with Anthony Corbin, while officers investigated and prepared search and arrest warrant affidavits. The investigation revealed that Corbin is an ex-felon with a violent criminal history and that he unlawfully possessed several firearms and high capacity magazines. Based on several risk factors, the SWAT team was used to execute the warrants this morning. Anthony Corbin surrendered peacefully as directed by officers, and was arrested without incident.

During the service of the search warrant officers found a 12 gauge shotgun, a .270 caliber rifle, a .9mm handgun with high capacity magazines, and drug paraphernalia. Corbin was charged with being an ex-felon in possession of firearms and ammunition, assault with a deadly weapon, making criminal terrorist threats, battery with serious bodily injury and domestic violence. SLTPD will be requesting the El Dorado District Attorney file a criminal enhancement of committing crimes in the furtherance of a criminal street gang.
