Gardnerville, NV…On Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 11:18 pm, Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence in the 1300 block of Waterloo Lane for a report of a female who had been shot.

DCSO Deputies arrived and found Rianilee Belles (38), Benjamin Dupreez (35) and Travis Belles (38) all from Gardnerville. Rianilee had suffered a bullet wound to her abdomen, and Rianilee’s brother, Benjamin had multiple contusions on his head.

Initial information retrieved from the involved parties was that Rainilee’s husband, Travis Belles, and Rainalee’s brother, Benjamin Dupreez, had been engaged in a verbal argument. During the argument, Benjamin reportedly produced a handgun to protect himself and his sister from Travis. Benjamin and Travis struggled over the gun, during which time the handgun discharged, with the round striking Rianilee in the abdomen.

DCSO Investigators responded to the scene and began investigation. The investigation is still ongoing.

Rianilee and Benjamin were subsequently taken to the Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.
