Incline Village, NV…The North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District recently purchased new vehicle extrication tools through grant funds awarded to the fire district through the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety’s Zero Fatalities Program. The Zero Fatalities Program utilizes the Nevada Strategic Highway Safety Plan http://zerofatalitiesnevada.com to educate citizens and increase awareness regarding safe driving practices in an effort to reduce fatalities and serious injuries on all Nevada public roads.

The $19,389.00 grant funds facilitated the purchase of four new vehicle extrication tools that will decrease extrication time because of increased capacity and capability. All on-line responders will receive training on the new tools as they are put into service within the next several weeks.
