South Lake Tahoe, CA – On 3/21/13 in the late afternoon, South Lake Tahoe Police Detectives working jointly with the FBI (South Lake Tahoe and Reno office) developed information the suspect who robbed El Dorado Savings Bank on March 7^th in South Lake Tahoe was in Reno, NV.  SLTPD Detective Nick Carlquist and the FBI contacted Paul Cortez (29 years old from South Lake Tahoe) in Reno, NV.  Cortez confessed to the robbery including specific details of how the robbery occurred and how much money was taken.  After interviewing Cortez, Detective Carlquist returned to South Lake Tahoe and obtained an arrest warrant for Cortez.  Cortez was later arrested by Reno PD and booked into the Washoe County jail for the warrant.  Transfer back to South Lake Tahoe/El Dorado County Jail is pending.
