Tahoe City, CA…The four partners who purchased the Tahoe City Golf Course in 2012, North Lake Tahoe
Resort Association, Tahoe City Public Utility District, Truckee-Tahoe Airport District,
and Placer County are currently conducting a public planning process to gather public
input on initial concepts and designs about the current and future uses at the golf
course. Two open house meetings will take place on March 26, from 6 to 8 p.m.,
and March 27 from noon to 3 p.m. Both meetings are at the Golf Course Club House,
251 North Lake Blvd. in Tahoe City.

“Placer County remains committed to identifying the highest and best use of the
Golf Course land,” said Placer County Supervisor Jennifer Montgomery, whose 5th
District includes Tahoe City and Placer County’s portion of Lake Tahoe. “That may
well include some Stream Environment Zone (SEZ) restoration, a continued golf and
ski use, a small boutique hotel, and potentially, better parking and a secondary
road directly behind the Highway 28 businesses. Or it may include none of those
things-we look to the community to inform us of their wants and needs for that
land.”

The four local agencies purchased the 46-acre golf course to keep local community
control of the popular amenity in the heart of Tahoe City. The four partners purchased
the property to enhance opportunities for open space, economic vitality, community
character, recreation, conservation and safety. The Tahoe City Golf Course is currently
operated by Tahoe City Public Utility District under a five-year lease to Duncan
Golf Management.
