Placer County, CA…The Placer County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging residents and businesses throughout Placer County to continue to display blue lights during the month of December in honor of Project Blue Light.
Project Blue Light is observed nationally every year to serve as a memorial to fallen law enforcement officers. Communities are asked to display blue lights to show their respect and encouragement for fallen officers and their families. Military families have also adopted the program by displaying blue lights year-round in support of those fighting overseas.
Residents can participate by displaying blue lights on a holiday tree, as outside decorations, in windows, or by using a blue porch light. Businesses can show their support by placing a blue light over a business entrance, in strings of exterior lights or in storefront windows.
For additional information on Project Blue Light, call Community Services Officer Lynn Harrison at (916) 652-2419. Enjoy a safe and happy holiday season and “keep the light on.”
