South Lake Tahoe, NV…January 20, 2013 at 12:30 AM South Lake Tahoe Fire Department responded to multiple reports of a
structure fire on Carson Avenue at Armstrong Avenue. All three South Tahoe Fire engines and both medic
units were committed at the fire scene the fire was knocked down quickly so both primary and secondary
searches were completed with no victims found and overhaul began.

Liberty Energy and Southwest Gas responded to secure the utilities and SLTFD was able to shut down the
water to the house.

This house had an active small scale marijuana grow operation. The preliminary investigation showed
multiple wiring modifications to power grow lights and fans. The burn patterns showed the source of the fire
being near an electrical junction box. The investigation will be ongoing with SLTFD fire investigators
checking the fire scene.
