Incline Village, NV…..The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office and Department of Public Safety, Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) have signed an inter-local agreement this week granting office space to NHP to improve law enforcement presence for residents in the Incline Village/Tahoe Basin areas.

In January 2009, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office realigned the beat areas, incorporating Incline Village into the South District to provide more effective coverage. In this process, the South District’s main office was moved to Longley Lane. This move created available office space at the Washoe County Sheriff’s Incline Village Substation.

Currently, if the Department of Public Safety, Nevada Highway Patrol is requested to handle an incident in the Incline basin area, they respond from Carson City. With this new inter-local agreement, NHP will be using the available Sheriff’s Office Incline Village office space to maintain more centralized coverage.

The Sheriff’s Office has offered the available Incline office space to the NHP at no cost. The Inter-local agreement went into effect on December 14, 2010 and includes space for two working stations space located at 625 Mt. Rose Highway, Incline Village. Nevada Highway Patrol will assume the cost of phones, furniture, computer stations and any other cost incurred within the space.
