SACRAMENTO – Senator Ted Gaines (R-Rocklin) today applauded Sutter Health’s recent announcement that they are establishing an administrative service center in Placer County, bringing a significant number of jobs to the region.
“With all of the recent news about businesses leaving California, this announcement by Sutter Health comes as a much needed breath of fresh air,” said Gaines. “Adding more than 1,000 jobs to the area will provide a vital boost to the local economy.”
The center is expected to employ more than 1,000 administrative support staff over the next 18 months. According to the Sacramento Area Commerce & Trade Organization, adding that number of new jobs translates to an economic impact of more than $264 million to the region.
Scheduled to open in early 2013, the service center will be located in a nearly 300,000-square-foot office building in Roseville previously occupied by Hewlett Packard. It will function as a central administrative service hub, with finance, billing, human resources and other non-patient services moving into the site.
“Sutter Health has long been a key part of the region’s economy and I’m pleased they will be deepening those roots with this new addition,” said Gaines. “I encourage other businesses and corporations to take note and invest in our area, which boasts competitive costs and the availability of a skilled workforce. I will continue to work with my colleagues across the aisle to reduce regulatory and tax burdens to improve California’s business climate.”
Senator Ted Gaines represents the 1st Senate District, which includes all or parts of Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, Lassen, Modoc, Mono, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento and Sierra counties.
