Camino, CA…Some of the most famous State Senators in recent California history gathered for Rico Oller, candidate for Assemblyman in the 5th District at a BBQ fundraiser at High Hills Ranch in Camino, this weekend in El Dorado County. An historic photograph (attached) includes four former State Senators (left to right) John Briggs, H.L. Richardson, Rico Oller, and Don Rogers. Over 100 attended.
Briggs, Rogers and Richardson enthusiastically endorsed Oller for his honesty and proven commitment to conservative principles of good government. “We can depend on Rico not to change when he’s in office,” strong words of support from former State Senator H.L. Richardson, founder of Gun Owners of California.
Oller has a record in the California Assembly and Senate of defending taxpayers from wasteful spending, confiscatory taxation, and oppressive regulations, like his legendary supporters.
Oller spoke to the group about the need for state budget reform with a focus on the necessary government services including education and public safety.
Oller opposes tax increases in Governor Jerry Brown’s Proposition 30 and Molly Munger’s Proposition 38.
Many other El Dorado County political figures attended who support Oller including Sheriff John D’Agostini, Supervisors Ron Briggs and Ray Nutting. Supervisor candidates Brian Veerkamp and Richard Barb, and future Supervisor candidate Dave Souza.
The Visman family hosted the event at their High Hills Ranch.
The 5th District represents the foothills including Auburn and Newcastle in Placer County, El Dorado County, except for Camron Park and El Dorado Hills, and the counties of Amador, Calaveras, Tuolumne, Alpine, Mono, Mariposa, and Madera.
