South Tahoe High School senior Jason Reum plants a yarrow seedling in the Angora fire area on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, as part of a cooperative project that includes the Forest Service, the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension and South Tahoe High School. The project aims to restore native plants to the burn area while teaching students about native restoration. “It’s great,” said senior Michael Wood, “We’re doing something that benefits the environment and gets us out of the classroom.” Photo Credit: Lisa Herron, U.S. Forest Service.
