Investigators of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office have identified the skeletal remains discovered on Wednesday, 02/22/12, in the northeast backcountry area of Douglas County, as those of 40 year-old Francisco Alejandro Lopez-Gonzalez of Minnesota.

Gonzalez was reported as a missing person out of Minnesota in June 2011.

Gonzalez’ family has been notified of the discovery of his remains.

This incident is being investigated as a homicide. The investigation is currently ongoing, and no additional information can be released at this time.
