Incline Village, NV- Diamond Peak Ski Resort is excited to announce they will be opening Saturday, December 10th a week earlier than projected. Due to recent cold temperatures and the resort’s upgraded snow making system, Diamond Peak will be opening with top-to-bottom skiing/riding on 1,840 vertical feet.

The resort will operate 3 lifts: Lodgepole, Crystal Express and Schoolhouse, giving skiers and snowboarder’s access to intermediate and beginner terrain. More terrain is expected to open by December 15th, including Lakeview Quad which will add several runs off that side of the mountain.

“The quality of the skiing and riding will surprise people, given the lack of natural snow.” states Brad Wilson, Diamond Peak’s General Manager. “Being able to ski off the top of the mountain with our incredible lake views, on fresh machine made packed powder, is something we are very proud to promote.”

Diamond Peak’s all day adult lift ticket is $54 and child ticket is $20 (7-14 years old) everyday, including holidays. Kids 6 and under ski for free. The best daily value at the resort is the Mini Pass; you can ski for as little as $35 a day with a 7 day Mini Pass. This pass gives you direct to lift access; each time you ski 1 day will be subtracted from the pass. The days can be used anytime throughout the 2011/2012 season.
Season pass holders from another resort can purchase a lift ticket for just $25 non-holiday and $35 during the holidays. On opening weekend Diamond Peak will offer $30 beginner packages (normally $75) in support of North Shores learn to ski and ride weekend. This package includes an all day beginner lift ticket, group lesson and all day rental equipment. If you are new to the sport of skiing and snowboarding, start the season off right with take a lesson at Diamond Peak.

Community Appreciation Day December 15th-anyone who lives within a 50 mile radius of Diamond Peak can purchase an all day lift ticket for just $25. (Must show photo id).

Passholder Appreciation Day December 15th- Diamond Peak Season Passholders enjoy a FREE BBQ on the deck of the Base Lodge from 11am-1pm.

Santa Visits Diamond Peak December 23rd, 24th and 25th – Come visit with Santa and Penguin Pete from 11am-1pm. They will be on the mountain around the base area handing out candy canes.
