Washington, DC…The Republican controlled House of Representatives today delivered a strong rebuke to the Obama Administration on it’s handling of the Libyian Conflict. The Republican backed milder of the two resolutions on the table gives the White House a two week deadline to deliver the information the House has requested.
Defeated was a Democrat backed plan that would have called for an immediate withdrawal of forces. This proposal was deemed by may as too severe and would have caused problems for our allies.
The size of the votes and their bipartisan nature indicate a broad displeasure in the house on how the White House has handled the Constitution and War Powers Resolution’s requirements on congressional approval and notification for military actions.
