Image of Flying FlagOn Monday, May 30, 2011 at 11:00 am, the 6th annual Memorial Day Tribute to our Veterans, honoring the sacrifices and service of the men and women of the Armed Forces of the USA. The event will take place at the Monument, 360 Fair Lane, Placerville, CA (near the County Library and other offices).

Memorial Day is a time to reflect on the sacrifices and service of the men and women of our Armed Services who have served the cause of freedom.

Highlights of this year’s tribute will include:

A flight of T-6 aircraft in the “missing man” formation
*
Special guest speaker USMC Major General Douglas Stone
*
Participation from local Cub and Boy Scout troops and the Marine Corps League
*
Award of “Friends of the Monument” scholarships
*
The 20 member Foothills Womens Chorus singing the national anthem and other patriotic songs.
