Placer County Has A Vacancy On Weimar-Applegate-Colfax Advisory Body

Placer County is looking to fill a vacancy on the Weimar-Applegate-Colfax Municipal Advisory Council.

 

Community members interested in filling the vacancy are invited to fill out applications for county review. Fifth District Supervisor Jennifer Montgomery will review the applications and ask the full Board of Supervisors to confirm her recommendation for the vacant position.

Members of the advisory council are volunteers who serve two-year terms. Each member must reside, be a property owner, or be a business owner or manager in one of the communities served by the advisory council.

The Weimar-Applegate-Colfax MAC is a seven-member advisory body that regularly meets at 6 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month in the Colfax City Hall, 33 South Main Street.

The county’s 14 municipal advisory councils advise the Board of Supervisors on issues of public interest in unincorporated areas. The councils are charged with gathering public comment on a range of topics, including land use, public works, recreation, law enforcement and public health and safety.
