Meyers, CA…”My heart goes out to all those affected by the Caldor Fire, including dozens from our own County family. I was able to survey the fire first-hand on Sunday, thanks to our Meyers-based CHP. As you can see by the pictures I took, the communities of Strawberry, Silver Fork and Kyburz were still in tack. There was lots of smoke but no visible fire from the highway. I was impressed by the huge amount of personnel and equipment seen from the top of Echo Summit to Fresh Pond. A special “thank you” to Lieutenant Commander Nelson, Sergeant Braaksma, and my “pilot”, Officer Loehr and “co-pilot”, Officer Gartner for the tour. To all the first responders and those affected by the fire, please stay safe and know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.”
