Truckee, CA…On the morning of Saturday, August 7, 2021, Truckee Police Officers were dispatched to an unresponsive person at a residence on The Strand in the Glenshire subdivision. Officers located a deceased subject inside the residence. While inside the residence, officers contacted a mother and young child.

Officers immediately observed conditions unfit for the child to live in, including drug paraphernalia in reach of the child. Officers obtained a search warrant for the residence and concluded the mother had caused her child to be placed in a situation where the child’s health was endangered.

The mother, identified as Christiana De La Casas (06/13/1985), was arrested and charged with Child Endangerment and for being under the influence of a controlled substance. She was booked at the Nevada County Jail.
