Wild Winter Weekends at the Animal Ark

Put on your winter coat and boots and plan to come join us on the holiday weekends. You can admire our wild residents wearing their lustrous winter coats as they frolic in the snow! While nippy for us, Reno’s icy weather is perfectly comfortable for our two lynx, the bobcats, our cougars, the Arctic wolf and Arctic fox, and several of our other wild residents. The black bears and tortoises will be hibernating but all the rest of our wild guests will welcome your visit!

The Ark’s winter wonderland is at 6,000 feet of altitude, so dress for outdoor fun in the snow. We encourage you to call on event days prior to your departure, as severe weather or unsafe facility conditions will cancel the festivities.
Admission: $12 for Adults, $10 for Children & Seniors, free for 2 & under
Directions: From Reno, take Highway 395 North, right on Red Rock Road, go 11.5 miles, then
right onto Deerlodge Road to 1265.
