South Lake Tahoe, CA (July 16, 2013) – The City of South Lake Tahoe Recreation Department is proud to partner with the Tahoe Tri Club and is hosting a Kids Triathlon this Sunday, July 21st at the South Lake Tahoe Recreation Complex at 1:30pm. Registration for the event is $35.

The Tahoe Kids Triathlon is a triathlon (series) for kids ages 3-13. The triathlon course includes the Recreation Complex Swimming Pool, Parking Lot, and Greenway that surrounds the Campground. A post-race party, BBQ and yearly age-group awards will follow the triathlon.

Due to the popularity of this event, two additional kids’ triathlons will be held on August 18th and September 8th.

Age Groups:

3-6 Year Olds – 25 Yard Swim, 1 Mile Bike, 400 Yard Run

7-9 Year Olds – 50 Yard Swim, 2 Mile Bike, 1 Mile Run

10-13 Year Olds – 100 Yard Swim, 3 Mile Bike, 1.5 Mile Run

Arrive at the South Lake Tahoe Recreation Complex by 12:30pm to pick up race packets and have time to set up your transition area and races will begin at 1:30pm. The Recreation Complex is located at 1180 Rufus Allen Blvd.
