Sheriff’s Office requests public’s assistance in identifying armed robbery suspect

Sparks, NV…The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery that occurred in the Sun Valley area during the early morning hours of Sunday, January 13, 2013.  Detectives are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the robbery suspect.

At approximately 12:42 a.m., an Armed Robbery occurred at the Golden Gate Market located at 5190 Sun Valley Blvd. The suspect entered the store alone and is described as:

White male adult approximately 5’5″ to 5’7″ tall, thin build, with a brown/black moustache.The suspect was wearing a red knit “beanie style” hat, black and blue jacket described as black fleece lower with blue possible nylon material upper to include a blue hood, black knit gloves, blue jean pants and black sneaker shoes.  The suspect entered the store and upon approaching the counter pulled a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from the cashier.  Upon obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect exited and was last seen fleeing on foot to the north exterior corner of the store towards East 2nd Avenue.
