Lake Tahoe Basin, CA…The Sierra Avalanche Center is proud to announce and offer motorized-specific avalalanche level 1 classes. This is a 3 day / 24 hour class provided by grants from the California OHV Division and Nevada Commision on Off Highway Vehicles. The purpose of these classes is to teach participants to use a repeatable process to make decisions and manage risk while riding in avalanche terrain.

Registration for classes will open 6 weeks before each course start date. Classes are scheduled for Jan 20-22, Feb 10-12, Feb. 24-26 for CA OHV Classes and March 17-19, 2017 for the Nevada OHV course.

Participants will need avalanche rescue equipment (beacon, shovel, probe) and a registered sled in proper functioning order. Space is limited and we want to fill these classes with committed individuals so please only register if you are serious about participating.
