Located at the historic Camp Richardson Resort in South Lake Tahoe, the annual Fall Feast Week offers four fall themed courses. Starters include a creamy ginger butternut squash soup or the Beacon’s signature house-made New England style clam chowder; followed by a fall flavor inspired grilled sweet potato and bacon salad or pecan and pear salad; entrees are either spinach, gouda and pancetta stuffed pork chop, pistachio crusted halibut with a veloute cream sauce or pan-seared duck breast; with a grand dessert finish of either cinnamon apple tart or sweet potato maple layered cheesecake. Wine and beer pairings will also be available for purchase.

“Winter has already dusted the mountains and it is the perfect time of year for cozying up by the fireplace with hearty comfort food and fine wine while admiring lake views,” said Vanessa Santora, group sales, events and marketing manager of Camp Richardson Resort.

The Fall Feast menu starts at 5 p.m., Nov. 4-13. It is offered in addition to the regular menu.

Families have visited Camp Richardson on the south shore of Lake Tahoe since the 1920s, taking in the sweeping landscape of the Sierra and Lake Tahoe. The all-seasons resort is known for its charming, rustic lodging and lakefront access for recreation that makes it a popular holiday destination and an ideal home-base for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and family reunions. The cabins have no phones and the only wireless available is in the hotel lobby.

Depending on the weather, there’s plenty of nearby hiking and biking trails, and with the winter season ahead, snowshoeing and cross country skiing. Voted “Best Place to Cross Country Ski” by Tahoe locals, the Mountain Sports Center offers cross country ski and snowshoe rentals to take advantage of the 35km of groomed and marked trails to ski along the shores of Lake Tahoe.

The ‘Fall Cabin Family Spectacular’ lodging package is $300 and includes two nights lodging in a year-round cabin or duplex along with a $75 credit to the Beacon.

The Beacon Bar & Grill offers special menus for each winter holiday.
