No Evacuations In Tahoe Area From King Fire At This Time

Lake Tahoe, CA/NV…At this time the King Fire, originating in the Pollock Pines area, does not present an immediate danger to the Lake Tahoe Basin including Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, and Truckee.

All local fire authorities and adjoining districts are cooperating and monitoring the progress of the King Fire.

There are no evacuation orders at this time in the Lake Tahoe Basin.

Despite rumors of proximity to the Lake Tahoe Basin, geographic obstacles cover a great deal of the area between the fire and the Lake Tahoe Basin.
