Man Claiming To Be Firefighter Locks Himself In Burning Building

Minden, Nevada – On Friday, May 2, 2014, at 12:57am, East Fork Fire and Paramedic District responded to a garage fire in the 800 block of Granite Court in the Indian Hills Sub-division that was well involved.

The structure is a separate garage building that was not attached to the home. The source of the fire is unknown at this time and is currently being investigated by fire inspectors of the East Fork Fire and Paramedic District.

During the incident, the occupant of the property, Blake Lister was arrested for interfering with the firefighters. Lister claimed to be a BLM Firefighter. After being told to stay away from firefighters working the blaze, Lister ran back into the burning building and locked himself inside. Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputies entered the building and told Lister to exit the building. When Lister refused, he was arrested and booked into the Douglas County Jail for interfering with extinguishing a fire and obstructing/resisting a police officer. Lister’s bail was set at $1280.
