The United States Department of Agriculture Announces Funding for Rural Mental Health Facilities

Washington, DC….This week, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced a funding goal of $50 million, over the next three years, to assist Community Health Centers with the construction, expansion, and enhancement of behavioral health facilities and services within rural communities.

“We need to be sure that every American has access to quality mental health services, including Americans living in rural areas,” said Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack. This year, the USDA supported nearly 3.2 million rural residents by investing more than $649 million in 130 rural health care facilities.
