Sierra Nevada College Lights Up The Season

Incline Village, NV…SNC hostedits annual Community Tree Lighting. Designers of this year’s event have worked their magic to create an illuminated LED forest of twinkle lights on the patio of Patterson Hall. Families will enjoy festive activities such as holiday crafts, cookie decorating, carols and music, refreshments and a photo opportunity with Santa Claus (parents, be sure to bring your camera!). An international tree display, gingerbread house competition, and pottery sale—combined with the historical debut of the college’s new eagle mascot—make this a mesmerizing storybook event. All activities on this night are free and open to the public.

Sierra Nevada College President, Richard Rubsamen said, “The holiday season provides an ideal opportunity for SNC to demonstrate its continuing commitment to the cultural and intellectual life of Incline Village. We hope that the community sees the college as an important part of Incline life, and will join us in initiating celebration of the holidays on December 2nd and 3rd. The tree lighting is one of our ways of saying thank you to our neighbors.

“As a not for profit institution, SNC relies heavily on donor funding to sustain its operations. The Holiday Gala allows SNC to raise funds while providing a celebratory event where friends of the college can meet and relax. Money raised from tickets and auction items benefit the SNC Academic and Scholarship Programs, which serve many of our 1,200 students throughout Nevada.”
