EXCLUSIVE PASS FOR THE 2012 LAKE TAHOE SUMMERFEST NOW AVAILABLE
(Incline Village, Nev.) – For a limited time, VIP Season Passes are available for the inaugural Lake Tahoe SummerFest, (www.tahoesummerfest.org) a series of classical music concerts. This transferable VIP Season Pass includes exclusive seating to all nine performances over the first three weekends of August; after-concert receptions with Artistic Director and Principal Conductor, Joel Revzen, and the orchestra; and preferred parking.
As a special bonus, each Season Pass includes a VIP ticket to “The Two Gentlemen of Verona,” a featured play at the 40th annual Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival. VIP Passes are on sale for $1,200 each and may be used by you, family, friends or business associates. General admission tickets are $25 and $50 and available at www.tahoesummerfest.org or 775-298-0245.
The performances are set against the spectacular backdrop of Lake Tahoe and the high Sierra. SummerFest Concerts feature world-renowned soloists and 38 instrumentalists (many of whom are first chair players) from the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, L.A. Philharmonic and the San Francisco, Seattle, Dallas and Vancouver Symphonies.
From Tchaikovsky to Mozart to Copland and Dvorak, Lake Tahoe SummerFest Concerts will celebrate classical music and performing arts, on the beautiful Incline-Village campus of Sierra Nevada College, Nevada’s only four-year private liberal arts college. A 500-seat outdoor venue in a specially designed acoustical concert tent will offer pure sound from instruments – without amplification and inclined seating for unencumbered sightlines.
SummerFest Concerts are set for the weekends of Aug. 3-5, Aug. 10-12 and Aug. 17-19. Themed Fridays include “SummerFest Opening Orchestra,” “All About Beethoven” and “Summer in Italy.” Saturday performances are a series of Chamber Music Concerts, limited to 300 seats set in a more personal fashion, with fewer artists as if they are playing in your living room. Family concerts are featured on Sunday afternoons at 3 p.m. To introduce and encourage interest in the arts with children, select rehearsals will be open on a complimentary basis, with opportunities to meet the conductor, concertmaster and acclaimed musicians.
Lake Tahoe SummerFest continues to seek partnerships with world-class performance and visual art luminaries from the Lake Tahoe Basin and beyond. Affiliations include the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival at Sand Harbor State Park (www.laketahoeshakespeare.com) and the American Impressionist Society.
