The event will be held from 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.at the El Dorado County Administrative Building C (Planning Commission Room), 2850 Fairlane Court in Placerville. Participants will learn about mechanical, cultural and chemical control methods to control Yellow starthistle plus plant biology and growth development. Farmers and ranchers will also learn techniques specific to controlling Yellow starthistle in orchard and vineyard settings. Winter is the perfect time to prepare a Yellow starthistle control plan and apply herbicide treatments, since several herbicides are most effective when
applied at the early stages of plant development. Workshop participants will also learn how to prevent the introduction and/or further spread of Yellow starthistle and other invasive weeds on their property, to protect uninfested and priority or high-value areas.
