South Lake Tahoe, CA/NV – Festivalgoers will have their say this Labor Day weekend as Sample the Sierra adds a competitive edge to the food and wine festival with the introduction of a new award – Best Tasting Experience! Attendees will vote for the booth that has their favorite flavorful creation that includes fresh ingredients that are prepared by a local chef or restaurant and then paired with regional wine, beer or spirits. The booth with the most votes will be awarded the Best Tasting Experience of 2014.
Lake Tahoe’s only farm-to-fork festival celebrates its fifth anniversary on August 31 at Bijou Community Park in South Lake Tahoe, CA. From 12pm to 4pm, Sample the Sierra attendees will taste expertly paired dishes and beverages showcasing the bounty of the Sierra Nevada region. This is the only food and wine festival that pairs regional growers and producers with chefs and restaurants and wineries, distilleries and breweries to create a unique tasting trifecta. Tastings may end at 4pm, but the fun continues throughout the day until 5pm as attendees are treated to live music from local talent and also have the opportunity to peruse a marketplace of local handmade goods. The one-day festival will be preceded by ancillary events including a pop-up dinner and farm-to-fork bus tour through El Dorado County. If you are curious to experience the unique flavors and talent of the Sierra Nevada, this is your chance!
