Sheriff’s Office offers the “Twelve Tweets of Holiday Safety”

Incline Village, NV…The holiday season is here and the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office wants it to be a safe and joyous season for all.

To help increase Holiday Safety, the Sheriff’s Office will offer the “Twelve Tweets of Holiday Safety” beginning Monday, November 19.

The “Twelve Tweets of Holiday Safety” is a series of daily tweets with tips to help keep residents safe while at home, traveling or celebrating during the holidays.

To receive “The Twelve Tweets of Christmas,” join the Sheriff’s Office on Twitter by following @washoesheriff .

Residents may also help increase security in their community by signing up for the free online neighborhood safety service, AlertID, participating in a Neighborhood Watch program or signing up for the Sheriff’s Office monthly online community e-newsletter.

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office celebrated 150 years of proud service and community partnership in 2011. Sheriff Michael Haley is the 25th person elected to serve as the Sheriff of Washoe County. His office continues to be the only full service public safety agency operating within northern Nevada and is responsible for operating the consolidated detention facility, regional crime lab, Northern Nevada Counter Terrorism Center, Internet Crimes against Children Task Force, court security, service of civil process, traditional street patrols and Regional Animal Services.
