Fall means film season and MontBleu has three events through December. The first is the Mountainfilm Festival, Oct. 20, featuring high-adventure and mountaineering stories with environmental and social messages. The adventure continues in the MontBleu Theatre with Jeremy Jones’ “Further: The Journey is the Reward” a film by Teton Gravity Research, Oct. 26. This is the second installment in the Jeremy Jones snowboard movie trilogy, Deeper, Further and Higher, presented by O’Neill. “Further” explores some of the world’s most remote mountain terrain while continuing Jones’ mission to camp deep in the backcountry and on the summits of un-ridden lines to access nearly vertical spines and wide-open powder fields.
The 34th annual Freaker’s Ball returns with a wild night full of surreal costumes guaranteed to make more than a few heads spin at Tahoe’s amped Halloween celebration, Saturday, Oct. 27. Partygoers will find all the farce, crack-ups and contests that give the Freaker’s Ball its attitude. This year MontBleu will unleash new venues including The Haunted Zone and Party Pit to add to the already outrageous lineup of exotic go-go dancers, spooked-out decor, freakish cocktail concoctions and the funky fashion costume contest with a $10,000 purse of cash and prizes. Holiday festivities continue with the Halloween Bash inside Opal, Oct. 31, with $1 Fireball shots and $1 Stoli O cocktails, no cover charge and $500 costume contest (cash and prizes).
With the holidays around the corner, the giving season starts early as MontBleu hosts “You’re Not Alone,” a concert collaboration featuring live music from regional band favorites such as Workin’ Minerva, Knowledge Lives Forever and Seasons of Insanity. The benefit concert at BLU Nightclub includes opening act Rod Rodriguez and his hilarious tribute to Rodney Dangerfield, Nov. 10. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Solace Tree, which supports families who have lost a loved one to a tragic accident. For more information visit: http://solacetree.org/.

The main event commences at 7 p.m., showcasing glimpses from the best action sports films of the year.
The punch bowl will be spiked with plenty of one-liners and laughs in December when MontBleu brings back the antics of comedian Daniel Tosh for a one-night-only sold-out performance, Dec. 15. The stand-up comedian and television host of the wildly-popular Comedy Central video clip show, Tosh.0, will make his second Lake Tahoe appearance in the MontBleu Theater. Every week, Tosh pushes the envelope with his spinning commentary about blogs and vlogs both popular and obscure, tweets and pokes, popular sites and new technologies.
The End of the World Mayan theme party is at Opal with free drinks for the ladies, $1 Fireball shots, $1 Zombies and $1 Armageddons, Dec. 21.
If MontBleu survives the end of the world they’ll host its popular New Year’s Eve Nightclub Party – three-parties-in-one: Opal Ultra Lounge, blu nightclub and the 14,000 sq. ft. convention center for high-spirited revelry to ring 2013. This year MontBleu will have a Brazilian theme, “2013 Starts with Some Spice,” to flavor the evening with live music, free party favors, champagne, go-go dancers and body painting all night/morning long.
