May 7, 2012 (Stateline, Nev.) – MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa recently added comedian Bob Saget and legendary reggae band, The Wailers, to its season of all-star entertainment, music, comedy, outdoor festivals and events at Tahoe South this spring and summer. (http://www.montbleuresort.com).
Bob Saget is typically not thought of as raw, profane and risky, but the 1980s-90s icon family guy known for his squeaky clean one-liners on shows like “Full House” and “America’s Funniest Home Videos” has been set free from television censors and will air his dirty laundry live, May 27 at MontBleu Theater.
Saget’s out-of-his mind observations of life and culture have made him one of the most sought-after comedic actors and standup performers on the circuit today. From his HBO special “That Ain’t Right” to his scene-stealing cameos in “Entourage,” and “The Aristocrats,” Saget is known to embrace his dark side.
Reggae music favorite, The Wailers, will bring positive vibrations, June 6, adding island flavor to the Lake Tahoe high-alpine setting. Formed by the remaining members of Bob Marley’s band, The Wailers continue to innovate by weaving their classic reggae hooks with fresh lyrics meant to highlight the past, present and future.
Native Californian, Dev, will bring her mega pop hits to Lake Tahoe on Saturday, May 12 along with The Whitney Myer Band, Young L and Starting Six. Dev’s best known for “Like a G6,” “Bass Down Low” and her dance hit “In the Dark.” She’s collaborated with The Cataracs, Far East Movement, David Guetta, Timbaland and Snoop Dogg. Expect songs from her recently released CD, “When the Sun Comes Up” as well as her previously released favorites.
The Academy of Dance Arts returns with “A Spring Celebration,” May 18-19. The split show is a first-half of ballet dedicated to fairy tale classics; the second half, “Divas and Dudes” provides a variety of music ranging from the Black Eyed Peas to Phantom of the Opera. Dancers of all ages will perform jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary and lyrical styles of dance.
Internationally acclaimed musician, actor and singer Gary Valenciano, known as “Mr. Pure Energy” will perform, June 23. Valenciano has earned Gold, Platinum and multi-Platinum awards across Asia, Latin America and the Philippines. He has released 28 albums worldwide and has had the most illustrious track record in the Philippine recording scene winning a total of 11 Awit Awards, equivalent to the U.S. Grammy Award.
And this summer, MontBleu Resort Casino and Spa will present its inaugural Summer Concert Series, set in an outdoor 4,000 seat amphitheater with six to 10 outdoor concerts planned. The Tahoe Reggae Festival featuring Pepper with Katchafire is June 29. Other artists and dates will be announced shortly.
