The National Weather Service would like help in advertising our upcoming weather spotter training class in Incline Village, NV to be held Wednesday, November 30th at the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District – Incline Station Training Room. Weather Spotters are volunteers who directly report hazardous or severe weather information to the National Weather Service in Reno. The information is used by weather forecasters to issue and verify warnings which help save lives and property. Weather Spotters report snowfall amounts, strong winds, heavy rain, hail, flooding, and even tornadoes. The weather spotter class provides training on observing and reporting extreme weather associated with thunderstorms and winter storms.

The National Weather Service will be hosting a Weather Spotter training course at the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District – Incline Station Training Room, located at 863 Tanager, Incline Village, NV between 6:00 and 7:30 PM on Wednesday, November 30th. The training will highlight how spotters help the National Weather Service issue life saving weather warnings and include topics such as severe thunderstorms, flash floods, winter storms, and other extreme weather. Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer weather spotter is encouraged to attend.
