SACRAMENTO – Assemblywoman Beth Gaines, R-Roseville, will host a ‘Toys for Tots’ collection event at her Roseville District Office and at regularly scheduled Community Coffees throughout the holidays.
“I am excited and honored to participate in this year’s Toys for Tots effort to help collect toys for children in need throughout our community this holiday season,” Gaines said. “Toys for Tots is a wonderful way to put a smile on the face of deserving children so they can experience the joy of Christmas.”
Gaines and her staff will also be available to collect toys at all upcoming Community Coffees, which are held throughout the district.
All new, unwrapped toys dropped off from now through Dec. 22 will be delivered to kids in need throughout the community.
Gaines has also partnered with McDonalds to provide a complimentary value meal to the first 50 individuals who make a toy donation. Thanks to local owners, Rosanna and Racquel Ruiz, Gaines and McDonalds are able to team up and give back to those to who give.
This year marks the 64th year for the Toys for Tots program, with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Program distributing more than 400 million toys to more than 188 million needy children. Each year, this program has increased its numbers in drop-off locations, toys donated, and children receiving toys.
“This is our opportunity to share this holiday and be able to provide toys for kids who otherwise wouldn’t have anything under the tree on Christmas morning,” Gaines said. “I hope our community will join me and come together to help make the holidays a little brighter for a child this year.”
